Hi everyone, I'm glad to see that people are actively posting on this blog; this thing really has a lot of potential (kudos, Micah). Anyway, now that school's over, I've had a little bit of time to work on ideas for oil paintings that I never got around to during the semester....like this thing:
graphite on Bristol paper, 8.5" x 11"
I've wanted to paint a still-life for a while now, but I thought it would be more interesting to take a more surreal approach. As always, any thoughts and criticism are more than welcome. Good luck to everyone, and keep painting!

The awesome thing about your process is that your final drawings can stand on their own as finished pieces. I always get impatient with the layout part of the process (something I need to work on). Great image. I can't wait to see it finished.
Take Care,
Ashley
Hi Ashley, thanks for the comment! I find that I always have to figure out every inch of a composition before I can start painting it.... maybe it's neuroticism, maybe I'm just wasting time.... either way, it seems to work.
Have a great summer, and keep painting!
I agree, Justin, your work is stellar, keep it up man. Peace.
